Siberian Federal University will host the First International Summer School/Work Shop "Global Climate Change. Clean Water” in Krasnoyarsk (Russia) for starting researchers Master and PhD students on 25 August to 7 September, 2014

Topics:

- representing the main issues about the climate change especially regarding the interactions between global warming and clean water,

- identifying common problems or local differences with respect to the home countries of the participants,

- increasing the awareness of the global warming problem and developing solutions to counteract climate change and reduce its effects,

- experiencing interactive working to learn about and address this complex problem by involving experts working on different topics from different countries (EU, RF, USA, Asian),

- introducing new technologies and policies for a energy efficient, low-carbon future in the water and wastewater sector,

 - showing the possibilities for energy efficiency improvements in the area of water management

Methodology

This meeting is focused on reviewing and evaluating objectives and underlying assumptions, determining priorities, discussing risk factors and identifying communication requirements.

Some of the key information areas that would be covered during the survey are as follows:

- Awareness and information availability related satisfaction

- Adequacy of the number of sources on which information is available

- Extent of information made available

- Comprehensiveness of information.

Engagement Roadmap and Detailed Phased Plan

Overview

We will be designing an inception report detailing the engagement roadmap with activities and timelines within two weeks from the start of the engagement. The following activities are included under this stage:

• Project kick-off

• Mobilization of the resources

·      Preparation and finalization of a full and comprehensive plan for the engagement

• Determination of all necessary review considerations

Approach

We aim to work closely with other stakeholders to produce a comprehensive plan covering

• Project Inception Report

• Detailed project plan incorporating activity schedules, work products, planned deliverables and other key outputs

• Communication plan with all internal and external stakeholders

• Key project assumptions/risks and role definition

• Presentation of some of the key issues/challenges based on secondary research

Instruments and strategies for the work

Involving the relevant decision makers or those who can influence decisions in the project dialogue itself and working together is a central element of the communication and dissemination strategy. Therefore:

• Project partners and observers will be encouraged to feed information into their respective national working environments

• Contacts made during the research for the state of the art studies will be used as multipliers

In addition the following instruments will be applied: - Interactive website (RSS-flow, commentary and share functions etc.), - Digital workspace(s) (for the use of working groups and sharing of documents), - Newsletter as well as input into existing newsletters of relevant communities and research groups, - On demand: virtual conferences / discussion forums on certain topics etc. in order to integrate stakeholders, - PR, news releases etc.
